Oh no she DIDN'T!!

Yes, yes she did. You know my messy TBR? (See the picture below that I posted a couple days ago.) I come home from work tonight and Twin has rearranged it. BY COLOR.

I'm sorry, but that's about the most ass-backwards way to arrange books that there can be. Am I right? No true booklover would do it.

But Julie is a designer. She has an eye for shapes and color which I completely lack. She stole all my artsy genes in the womb. So here's a picture of the TBR now. It is pretty, isn't it?

To retaliate I may have to move things around in her crafting corner. Should I rearrange all her fabric? They shouldn't be by color! Surely there's a "better" way. Hmmm, I will have to consider how to best disrupt her organization. Mee hee.

OMG!!! Can she come to my house and re-arrange my books like that!

I can't have my books alphabetical. I did that once and couldn't go into the book room for weeks. Totally freaked me out! I can keep books grouped by author but they are never alphabetized and every once in a while I shift them around for kicks.

Course, they are in boxes in a closet right now but I'm inspired for when the library/guest room is done!

Oh and fabrics should be sorted by pattern, shouldn't they? ;)

well Jennie, just think: it's not too bad since it's only your TBR pile... if it was your whole collection, than I think you should be weeping :) by the way, revenge is always sweet,

Let's see ~ I organize my books by Author, and then alphabetically. It's just easier to go right to the book I want that way.

I'd never heard of organizing books by color before. I just can't imagine it ~ "Hmm, I want to read Dreaming of You ~ I'd better go to the yellow section". Just can't picture it.

Mwa ha ha ha ha.

It was so much fun. And see it does look good. I am itching to do the rest, but I know better than to mess with your alphabetized books. That might get dangerous.

And dude, i didn't steal your artsy genes. I did, however, steal your food.

touch my crafting corner and you die.

it's so cool to have a sis no?

Anyway, that's interesting Devonna ;) I organized my books by genre (hitoricals gets a shelf, contemp gets a shelf, romantic suspense gets a shelf, paranormal gets another), then by author and then, by order of publishing.

Oh gosh I think it's cute but it would drive me insane too, because all of my JGs have to be together as well as my JM's and my LHs, you know..the way they're supposed to be! haha...but she gets cute points though!

LMAO!!! It sure looks pretty, but I have to agree with you, bass-ackwards.

Fabrics should be arranged from thinnest to thickest, naturally. Or by amount of natural fiber content, or size of pattern, or number of colors...

I agree with Ames - it does look prettier - but it is a horrid way to organize them :) And guess what I spotted right there in the middle, third book down - LOL

Good God Kristie!! Do have a magnifine (sp) glass at the computer because there is no way I could have picked that out. I am intrigued by the column of books on the right. All black and their titles all line up. Are these the JD Robb books or something real fun :)

Cindy ~

I think Kristie has a built-in Derek sensor. It doesn't matter how far away it is, if it's there she can sense it.

Cindy--Yeah, sorry, they're mostly In Death books. Above them is The Smoke Theif, The Gladiator's Honor and Kushiel's Dart. Have you read Kushiel's Dart? I think it's supposed to be dark and twisty. Though it's fantasy, don't know if you do fantasy.

Kristie--you have a sharp eye! And definitely a Derek Craven sensor. Do you google him to find new people who are reading it?

Yes, I do like the new TBR arrangement because it's pretty. But the rest of my library is alpha by author.

Sure wish there were a new Kelly Armstrong to put on that pile...

*sigh*

Have you read the first two books of the new Nora Roberts' trilogy? I love them, though a couple of the characters seem a bit recycled. Still love them, though!

Jennie-I'd say the Black Jewels Trilogy is darker than Kushiel's Dart. But I love the Kushiel series (a little bit more than TBJT-really can't make up my mind). :P

Am I the only one who thinks this is very sane and a great way to organize books? Then again, I've done this so yeah, your sister is NOT weird! I love it.

:-P

Hehe! It looks very nice though. :-P

See, I don't have any shelves yet (gonna get some soon, hopefully for my bday) but I think I'll probably arrange mine by genre.

Jessica-I can't wait for the new Armstrong either. We have to wait till the spring though, I think. I haven't read Nora's new trilogy yet, but I want to. Recycled characters? Well it's only her zillionth book, so maybe we can forgive her. :)

Ames-I really need to get to Kushiel and Black Jewels. I need a Fantasy craving. :)

Mailyn--Don't encourage her!! She might take it into her head to rearrange the rest of my books.
And YAY! you're back. I'm coming to your blog to see how Las Vegas was. ;)

Dance Chica--Get some shelves so you can be crazy like the rest of us and arrange your books just the way you like. And then take pictures of them and post them on your blog. LOL.
