I've read 12 off of that list and then I have two off the list sitting in my TBR pile.
I've read 69 of those books. I once tried to sit down and pick my favorite 100 romance novels (I couldn't, ran out of imagination after about 40), but most of the ones on that list are NOT on the AAR list.
I read all the Nora Roberts, Linda Howard, Judith McNaught and Jennifer Crusie. 2 Suzanne brockmann and one or two Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
I've read 87 of them. Of those on the list that you haven't read, I liked the ones by Connie Brockway, Morning Glory, In the Midnight Rain and Fallen From Grace the best. And you see Number 1 don't you (heh heh)
I definitely don't think I could come up with a list of my 100 favorite romances. But now I want to try...see what I can come up with. Someday.
Kristie--I just ordered a Connie Brockway, though I'm blanking on the title. I've never read her before.
And did you see that I have #6 in my tbr? I had to buy a copy, because the library didn't have one! *gasp*
Of the ones you haven't read, the ones I really, really think you should get asap are the Brockways, Ravished (especially if you haven't read Amanda Quick yet; it's an excellent place to start), To Have and to Hold & To Love and to Cherish, by Patricia Gaffney, In the Midnight Rain by Barbara Samuel, Paradise by Judith McNaught (might feel a bit dated, but I reread it recently and was completely absorbed by it yet again), the two Kinsales (both much, much better than FFTS), Dream Man, by Linda Howard, at least one of the Brockmanns, Daughter of the Game by Tracy Grant, some of the Baloghs, especially The Notorious Rake, Fallen from Grace by Laura Leone, Always to Remember by Lorraine Heath, One Good Turn by Carla Kelly, By Arrangement by Madeline Hunter, Trust Me by Jayne Ann Krentz, and at least one of the Putneys, maybe Thunder and Roses.
Man, this is a long list!
And I think I'll steal the idea from you and post my list in my blog, too! :-)
I've read 26 and have 13 in my TBR. Not too bad.
LOL, Rosario! That would keep me busy for a while. :)
I do want to try the Patricia Gaffneys--I read The Saving Graces and wasn't completely wowed but I might well like her historicals better.
And Putney is on my list to try, as I've never read any of hers.
Ames--very respectable number. :)
I printed off this exact list last summer with all intentions of reading them all. It didn't happen. My current TBR pile got in the way. LOL :)
Oh! and I've only been able to read 44 of those in the list.
89 Kristie! Wow!
OMG! It got around to Tara Marie and I thought I was stealing it from her who said she was stealing it from Rosario who I can see found it here. I'm going to do one of my running commentaries with it.
I know others have weighted in but here's what you need to read
Morning Glory by Lavyrle Spencer (it's a classic)
Dream Man by Linda Howard (because I say so)
For My Lady's Heart by Laura Kinsale (took me years to finally pick up the book but once I finished I couldn't pick up another book because I had the great book blues!)
After this, let us know and we'll tell you what to read next ;)
CindyS
Valeen-I doubt I'll ever get to all these either. But it's a nice goal to have.
Cindy--Yes, ma'am! LOL. I can't wait to see your list. :)
