Title: Glory in Death
Author: J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts)
Published: 1995, Berkley
Category: Romantic Suspense
Rating: 6/10

In Death #2. I'm going to be brief here.

Plot: Homicide detective Eve Dallas is working on a case involving the murders of several high-powered, successful women. It becomes personal when the murderer targets Eve herself.

Verdict: Very good, though not quite as good as the first one. I was surprised by who the murderer turned out being. Though it wasn't who I wanted it to be!

Random (small) complaint: It occurred to me as I was reading this one that I'm not getting a very good sense of setting for this series. They all take place in NYC and I live in NYC so I know what it should be like, and I'm just not feeling it. I think NR does small town settings much better.

Is Roarke going to be a suspect in all the books?!

hey there :D

I'm not really familiar with NYC, so I can't say much, but I do agree that she usually does better with small town setting... I think perhaps, it's easier for an author - her small town doesn't have to exist, but all small towns are the same...

anyway, to answer your question: no, Roarke is not going to be a suspect in every book (thank god), but since he's a prominent person, bound to happen.

Keep on reading tho, cos some good ones are coming :D

What Nath says. But say - if you need a break after a while from the In Death books, I know a good one you can read :)

And thus it begins.

Not all of them, no. But...eh. I loved the first few books in this series, but after that, they got kind of repetitive, plotwise. ;)

Nath--
Okay, I'm glad Roarke's not going to be a suspect every time, cuz that would get old! I'll definitely be reading more of these.

Kristie--
Oh my god!!! LOL! And I always say that, but this time I actually did lol. :) Derek Craven pusher! I'm getting to it, promise!

Amarjaa-
Hi! I've been wondering how 20+ books could keep from getting repetitive. But then I'm a bit of a Nora Roberts fangirl, so I'll probably like them all. :)

just saying, again, that no, Roarke isn't a suspect in each book. i really enjoy this series. even after 15 odd books, i'm still eagerly anticipating the next release. ;)
