Happy Thanksgiving! And tell me what to read!

Hi everyone! So my semester is almost done and soon I will have four weeks off--and much of that time will be spent reading fun, light, delicious fiction! YAYY! No more textbooks or scholarly articles for me. My problem now is what to read first?!! Here's a list of books I'm hoping to get through--
Fortune and Fate, Sharon Shinn
Demon Bound, Meljean Brook
Living with the Dead, Kelley Armstrong
When the Duke Returns, Eloisa James

Anyone have opinions on these? Any other suggestions?

I'll hopefully blog a lot more over break. But for now I want to wish all my American friends Happy Thanksgiving!

And I was wandering the AAR boards today for the first time in months and found out that Carla Kelly's next book is out on 1/1/09! WOOT! Can't wait! (I have to say that I like her original title of Worthy better -- Marrying the Captain is just so Harlequin-ish. But who cares--the inside will be wonderful Kelly, not boring Harlequin editor.)

I've never heard of Carla Kelly. Maybe I'll check it out!

Since I have problems with my need for immediate gratification, I will be buying a copy of Kelly's new book in ebook version (usually available a month early). But then in January, I'll buy a hard copy, too, to add to my bookshelf with other Kelly books.

Don't have any other recommendations...except maybe The Hunger Games, which is the best book I've read lately.

Hi Jennie and welcome back!!! You definitely have to read Demon Bound. It's very good. I am amazed at how addicting Meljean is to the book world!

I have stuck with your Classic Romance Challenge. Right now I am reading As you Desire by Connie Brockway. Oh My Gosh! Is it ever good! Also I highly recommend Annie's Song by Anderson. Take care and I hope you get some good ones in!

I liked 'Fortune and Fate' - thought it was better than 'Reader and Raelynx', although it seems I'm in a minority on that one!

'Living with the Dead' is a pretty middling entry in the Armstrong's Otherworld series; maybe not as good as 'Bitten' or 'Stolen', but still a good read, if you've liked the others.

As for recomendations - not sure if it's your cup of tea, but Jim Butcher's latest Alera book's just out (Princep's Fury) which I'm enjoying at the moment. Another to try is TA Pratt's 'Dead Reign' (third in the Marla Mason series).

I'm looking forward to the Eloisa James book, too. :o)

I sort of thought F&F was just okay for a Sharon Shinn - I didn't love it as much as the previous books in the series. Don't get me wrong - it's still good, but for the first time when reading Shinn, I didn't feel compelled to read it in one go.

LwtD - It's darker than her previous Otherworld books, IMO.

I'm planning on reading the Eloisa James this weekend - Ana from The Book Smugglers has been raving about it!

I would suggest putting the Eloisa James at the top of your TBR pile. It was fabulous!

*waving hand here* For another suggestion - Broken Wing by Judith James.

And I know this is off-topic but it's good info for readers (and time is a factor). So...

I'm blogging about some free e-book downloads from Samhain! Check it out:
